The effects of amino acids on plants
Amino acids are crucial for plants, providing them with scarce organic nitrogen. For small-molecule free amino acids and oligopeptides, plants can directly absorb them through transport proteins, providing the necessary nitrogen. Besides directly providing nitrogen, amino acids also directly participate in biological activities within plants, promoting growth, and different types of amino acids have different effects on plants.
